Barbadillo (Sherry)

The Barbadillo family started wine-making in Sanlúcar de Barrameda in 1821.  The Barbadillo vineyards are located in the famous Sherry triangle, and qualify as ‘Jerez Superior’. On these gently-undulating hills, Barbadillo has two vineyards called Santa Lucía and Gilbalbín.  Situated at the estuary of the Gualquivir River, this town soon became famous for making a style of Sherry known as "Manzanilla" which today has its own denomination within the region.
